Riverside Secondary is proud to offer a comprehensive and competitive athletics experience for our school and community. Riverside develops and growsββ a culture of excellence, sportsmanship, and personal growth. Our program is committed to providing our students with the opportunity to develop their athletic abilities, build character, and create lasting memories. As one of the premier high school athletics programs in British Columbia, Riverside annually has top ranked teams throughout the CSSAA, Fraser North, and BC High School Sports, while supporting over 300 student athletes, on 40+ teams, in over 15 different sports. The success of our athletics program is founded on the dedication, passion, and commitment, of our students, coaches, parents, ββand athletes.

Athletics Registration Process + Fees
STEP 1 | All athletes that have been identified to a team are required to complete this form in order to be registered with BC School Sports + Riverside Secondary. If you are not a registered athlete, you will not be permitted to participate.

STEP 2 | βAll athβletes that have been identified to a team will be added to
SCHOOL CASH ONLINE. All athletes are required to pay the 1) Riverside Athletics Fee - includes equipment replacement, medical supplies, banquet, and registration 2) Riverside Team Fee - this fee is specific to each team, and covers the costs of leagues, tournaments, and other team allocated items. If you have not paid your Riverside Athletics Fee + Riverside Team Fee, you will not be permitted to participate.
*In some circumstances there may be additional fees applied to specific teams to cover the costs of attending provincial championships, travel e.g.
Financial Assistance
Athletes and families may need assistance to pay for fees associated with school sports. Please read the following guidelines.
1) Athletes and families, are asked to communicate with their coach and school counsellor about their need for financial assistance.
2) Families seeking financial assistance are asked to apply for a grant through - APPLY FOR A GRANT - KIDSPORT
* Online applications require a Noticβe of Assessment from Revenue Canada
* Paper applications can be submitted in situations where online applications are not available or accessible
* School personnel cannot be a finanicial guarantor for school sports
* Before applying - know the specific sport, length of season and registration fee
* KidSportβ’ considers the social and economic barriers facing the athlete's family when determining eligibility for funding.
* Statistics Canada's Low-Income Guidelines (LICO) are used as a guideline to determine financial eligibility. If your income is higher, or if your income has changed since your last NOA, extenuating circumstances can be taken into account, please provide details with your application.β
