September 19th is our annual Terry Fox Run at Heritage Woods Secondary. The Terry Fox Run is one of the many ways we bring students together to build school spirit, and, more importantly, this event celebrates the lasting legacy of Terry Fox.
Terry Fox represented the best that Canadians have to offer. He was an example of courage, humility, determination, and perseverance. Terry was not much older than the students in our building when he began his Marathon of Hope, and the qualities he demonstrated are ones that we want to encourage our students to develop. We are confident that we will have a strong demonstration of Kodiak Spirit!
Every year, schools across the country participate in Terry Fox Runs and help to raise money for cancer research. Terry’s goal was $1 from every Canadian and our goal of $1660 represents the number of students and staff at Heritage Woods. We have no doubt that the Kodiak Community can achieve or exceed this goal!
