In Elementary and Middle school, students have been used to having school supply lists that guide part of their school startup purchases but in Secondary school there is no set supply list. Students can use the following generic list for September startup:
- Scientific calculator
- Protractor
- Ruler
- Pens
- Pencils
- 3 ring binder
- Notebooks
- Loose-leaf paper
- Dividers
Because there is such a variance in supplies needed for each course, students will find out in the first few days of classes what they need exactly for this semester from each course teacher.
If a textbook is issued for a course, students are responsible for returning that textbook in the condition that it was given to them. If they do not return their textbooks, they will be required to pay the cost of replacing the missing textbook. Please make sure that your child understands the importance of caring for their textbooks and belongings while they are attending Terry Fox Secondary. Please remind your son or daughter to write their names into all the textbooks they are given, as it their responsibility to return the book at the end of the semester. The student is responsible for the replacement cost if it is lost or damaged and with the rising cost of textbooks this can become quite a bill at the end of the semesters. Please encourage your student to keep care and not lose any books---thanks for your cooperation with this.
