Important Message from Fraser Health for Families

2024 11 12 Letter to Superintendents - H5 Avian Influenza (Final).pdf

Out of an abundance of caution, Fraser Health has sent school districts in the region a letter about the teenager who has tested presumptively positive for avian influenza. Please see the letter attached for more information. We encourage everyone to practice the preventative measures suggested, including:

Stay up to date on all immunizations, especially the seasonal flu vaccine
Do not touch sick or dead animals
Stay home if you are sick

We honour and remember the victims of residential schools, including the children who never came home and the Survivors whose bravery revealed the cruel truths of these institutions. The Survivors' courage is a reminder of the resiliency of Indigenous Peoples in Canada.
