My name is Britt Walton and I am excited to be the Principal of Roy Stibbs Elementary School. It is with enthusiasm that I join such a diverse, vibrant and wonderful community where all children are engaged in learning through genuine curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Whether you are a student, parent, staff, support staff or a visitor to Roy Stibbs, our aim is to work collaboratively, build healthy and positive relationships, while cultivating an appetite for life-long learning and honouring that “everyone is valued and belongs here."

Action Plans for Learning provide a framework for reporting student learning and school goals that are most relevant to our school community. This year, Roy Stibb's Action Plan for Learning (APL) focuses on intellectual development (writing/drawing), human and social development (self regulation) and Indigenous ways of knowing and learning.  Please click here for deeper understanding of our school goals.

Our staff work hard to create an engaging learning experience for all children. If you have any questions or concerns, you are encouraged to contact your child's teacher or if you'd like to share feedback. Open and positive relationships between school and home have number positive effects that shape children's engagement in and view of school, education and learning. We encourage parents to become active members in our school community by joining our Parent Advisory Committee. More information can be found here.  

Nature also plays a vital role in children's learning. The benefits of nature are restorative in that it encourages self discipline, restores attention and reduces stress in children. Here at Roy Stibbs, we value such a connection to the outdoors thus, we have “WEST COAST RECESS AND LUNCH". Students go outside for ALL recesses and lunch hours unless the weather is extremely stormy or it is deemed to be unsafe. Please help children in facing the elements of our wet west coast weather by ensuring they come to school dressed appropriately equipped with umbrellas, raincoats, and boots.

Finally, let's continue to teach our children the following important core values of being a Roy Stibbs Raptor > BE SAFE, BE KIND, BE POSITIVE & BE YOURSELF.
