Throughout the program, students will master the essentials of food preparation, including safety and sanitation, equipment operation, and basic food service skills. During the second semester (typically in Grade 12), students will take four cook training courses and complete a minimum of 120 hours of hands-on work experience or an apprenticeship at a local restaurant. By the end, students will be ready to take the 'Professional Cook 1' certification exam.
