    Dr. Charles Best - 100 Year Anniversary of Insulin - read up in the Cafeteria seating area

    • Age 16 – Attended the University of Toronto to pursue medicine. Played professional basketball to finance his education.
    • Age 19 – Served in the Canadian Army during WW1.
    • Age 21 – Won a coin toss to become the assistant to Dr. Frederick Banting.
    • Age 22 - Co-discovered insulin. They sold the patent to the University for $1 to ensure worldwide access.
    • Age 23 – Dr. Banting share the Nobel Prize in Medicine with Dr. Best
    • Age 28 – University Professor and President. Honored with numerous awards and distinctions.
