Important Message from Fraser Health for Families

2024 11 12 Letter to Superintendents - H5 Avian Influenza (Final).pdf

Out of an abundance of caution, Fraser Health has sent school districts in the region a letter about the teenager who has tested presumptively positive for avian influenza. Please see the letter attached for more information. We encourage everyone to practice the preventative measures suggested, including:

Stay up to date on all immunizations, especially the seasonal flu vaccine
Do not touch sick or dead animals
Stay home if you are sick

It shares boundaries with the cities of Port Moody, Burnaby and Coquitlam, just outside of metro Vancouver. Glenayre is a dual-track school, having programs in both English and Early French Immersion for kindergarten to grade 5 students.
