Over 20 SD43 schools took the time to give back to the community through their participation in the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Jump Rope for Heart program this year.
Special acknowledgement goes to Aspenwood Elementary for being the top fundraising school in the Fraser area and third overall in BC by raising an incredible $17,039. A total of 205 schools, including the ones from SD43, participated in this program.
The Fraser area covers the communities of Burnaby, New Westminster, Tri Cities, Ridge Meadows, Fraser Valley, Surrey, Langley, and North Delta. The money raised through Jump Rope for Heart helps to fund the best medical minds in the world, uncovering mysteries like the role of physical activity in preventing diabetes and managing complications in youth.
