The Wizard of Oz - 2011 Musical Theatre Production
Page Content
Director's Message
It is with great pride and excitement that I welcome you to Gleneagle’s production of “The Wizard of Oz.” The cast and crew have been working hard to create a show that is energetic, truthful, and imaginative. Along our own journey, just as the characters in Oz, we too have explored values such as friendship, loyalty, and compassion. The result being, a show that has not only been a tremendous amount of fun to produce, but that has also built long-lasting and meaningful friendships amongst the cast and crew.
Indeed it has been a lot of work to put on a show of this magnitude, but the process reinforces the power of theatre to build and reinforce a strong sense of self and place within a community as we strive to meet a common artistic goal.
I would like to thank Natalie Harder for all of her help producing this show, we couldn’t have done it without her! Also, a big thank you to members of the community; from dedicated parents to helpful colleagues, from corporate sponsors to individual donors. A production of this magnitude could not have happened without the generosity and commitment of both school and community members.
And so, I do hope that you enjoy the show...
Sit back, relax, and enjoy your journey down the yellow brick road!
