CABE Secondary is the smallest secondary school in the Coquitlam School District. We offer self paced courses in an alternate school setting, for 175 students who come from all areas of the Tri-Cities. Our flexible schedule and continuous enrollment allow us to offer different educational opportunities than traditional secondary schools. Our small, welcoming environment creates an alternative structure that allows students who have struggled in other SD43 Secondary schools to excel.
We offer all of the required courses needed for graduation and a wide variety of elective opportunities. Many of our students choose to graduate from CABE, however we have some students who opt for a blended program with another secondary school or who chose to return to their home school to complete graduation.
The school also houses the district’s Young Parent Program. A full service day care is provided on site and students are able to complete their course work while also learning valuable parenting and child-rearing skills. The program is supported by a full time youth worker who assists students navigate parenting and schooling. The youth worker is also able to provide outreach services to the families and assist with training and guidance in the community and at home. We work with families to tailor the program to suit each young parents needs, and seek to compliment existing supports that may already be in place.
The staff and students at CABE are proud to be the best little school in Coquitlam.
