Commonly asked questions:
Can I register for more than one location?
- βYes, you're welcome to try out various centres. Different centres are run by different facilitators and each person organizes the sessions differently.
What if I'm running late and do I have to stay for the whole session?
- βStrongStart is a drop-in program. You're welcome to come whenever you like and stay for the whole session or part of it.
Are you open everyday?
- βWe follow the school calendar. We close on professional development days and holidays. Always check our calendar for updates about our closures. β
Do I have to attend everyday?
- You're welcome to come once a week or once a month. It's completely up to you and your family how often you'd like to drop-in.
Can grandparents/caregivers bring my child to StrongStart:
- βYes, anyone can bring your child but the adult/guardian must remain with the child at all times.
Registration:
If you've never attended StronβgStart feel free to drop into any of our locations and try out the program before registering. Once you've tried it out and wish to continue please follow the steps below:
- βFill in the registration form: StrongStart Registration 2024.1.pdf
- Attach it to your email along with 2 pieces of ID as indicated on the form
- Include your child's name as the "subject"
- Email the form to: strongstart@sd43.bc.ca
Once we've had a chance to review your email, we'll notify you we've received it and if we need anything further. If you have any questions please call 604-937-6381.
ββEnvironment:- Play spaces will be pre-designated either on the school grounds or within the local community. *Note: Please contact strongstart@sd43.bc.ca or the outdoor StrongStart teacher for details.
- Site assessments will be conducted prior to each session to ensure safety.
- Families will remain outdoors for the duration of the session unless extreme weather events. Please dress appropriately for all weather conditions.
HYGIENE, CLEANING AND DISINFECTING - StrongStart teachers will wash their hands frequently.
- A small snack will be distributed during each session. If you have dietary needs, please be prepared to provide your own snack.
- Access to washroom facilities is limited but not prohibited. Home facilities are recommended before coming to the StrongStart centre.
- Regular cleaning and disinfecting will be conducted for all high touch point areas and materials. β
